2 star Michelin Restaurant at the Berkeley, Knightsbridge, London
Head Chef: Marcus Wareing
Food: Modern European
Date visited: 01/06-2012
Total Bill: £941.63 (including service charge)
Menu:
3 members of the Michelin Club went for the Chefs Menu and 1 went for the Taste Menu, where the following dishes were served:
Kombu/langoustine/mirin (both menus)
Foie Gras OR Quail
Veal sweetbread (only Chefs Menu)
Scallop OR Salmon
Galloway beef fillet/Dorset snails OR Suckling lamb
Selection of cheese (additional suppl. to the Taste Menu)
Passion fruit/mango/lime (both menus)
Apple/Crispy cinnamon pastry OR Horlicks/Honey/Whisky
Wine:
The Wine was mainly picked by the Michelin Club since the Sommelier was not at much help when we didn't want French wine. We had the following:
White: Dog Point
Red: Casa Marin
Port: 4 gl of Qta Gaivosa 04
Dessert: 1/2 Gruener Eiswein
Extras:
The restaurant furthermore served 2 different tasters before dinner and 1 extra after dinner (home made chocolate). We also had a surprise visit in the restaurant of Marcus Wareing himself, who walked around and talked to all the tables.
Annette and Carlos also went for a nice tour of the kitchen in the end of the evening - so they had more time for us.
