Waterside Inn

Waterside Inn

3 star Michelin Restaurant in Bray

Head Chef: Alain Roux

Food: French

Date visited: 27/09-2013

Total Bill: £1000.00 (All Inclusive)

Menu:

All 4 members in the Michelin Club went for the Menu Exceptionel, where the following dishes were served:

Lobster salad served on a delicate citrus jelly & raspberry vinaigrette

Chestnut & champagne velouté with a partridge & foie gras "diablotin"

Breaded medallion of monkfish served on simmered coco beans with tomato & chorizo flavoured sauce

Roasted Loin of venison in a pastry crust with wild mushrooms garnished with florets of broccoli & Hermitage wine sauce with blackcurrant vinegar

Iced pineapple parfait served on a gingerbread struzel sablé

Warm golden plum soufflé

Café et mignardises

Wine:

There was only French Wines on the Wine list this time - so the Wine was picked with good help from the Sommelier, where we had the following:

White: 2009 Macon Leflaive

Red: 2006 Ch Gazin

Dessert: 2011 Chaume

Extras:

The restaurant furthermore served 4 extra tasters before dinner and 1 extra taster before the dessert to clear the palate. We also had a surprise desset since Ingrid and Carlos just got married.

Annette and Carlos also had an excellent tour of the big kitchen, where Alain's right-hand man 'Fabrice Uhryn' showed us around in the kitchen that was completely rebuild 4 years ago.
